Looking for Advice

I just bought a 2009 ZX-6R that is stock and I am looking for some good mods for HP gains. I just ordered a titanium full exhaust system and was wondering if you had any other suggestions.

Thanks in advance...

in talking to my tuner, he gave me a little advice. said that the 6r is so well tuned from the factory that even with an assload of typical mods youre probably still only looking at maybe a 5ish HP gain. not sure if thats completely accurate or not, but i know this guy well, hes factory trained and has no reason to bs me

just my 2

I would question the desire for more HP. If you're looking for faster lap times, things like rearsets, quick shifters, and suspension upgrades are definitely the way to go. I would work with a local suspension tuner who really knows what he's doing to help you dial in the bike for your riding style (clip on height lowering the front end, etc). If you're not sure where to go, google Dave Moss. He's one of the best I've ever found.

If it is truly horse power you're after, a thinner (lighter) chain and different gearing to match can suck up some of the loss between the crank and the wheel and are relatively inexpensive changes to make.

Beyond that, you're looking at dyno tunes and serious engine work to squeeze more HP out of what is already the best engine in its class.

Hope this helps.
