I was told an ignition module made by power commander would help also.

Don't go buy expensive parts for a track bike. Especially if it's your first. I'd spend that money instead on track days and proper gear.

I just picked up a 07 that's almost stock other then the track body work. I'm leaving it the way it is until I feel I improved dramatically.

Also I'd modify brakes before anything. My $0.02

One can have all the shiney and trick bits on their bike as it goes around the track, but it doesn't matter if it ends up in the dirt or sand or whatever run off is there. Take the money you woulf put into the ignition module and INVEST in a roadracing school. Not sure where you are but do some research and you will find something close. It is, by far, the best investment you can make

If you can spend the money on a track school, I agree that's the best thing money can buy. Also, if you have done that or haven't done the school the first thing I would spend my money on is a case savers from r&g or woodcraft. Clutch case, stator case and gas tank protector. Last thing you need is a bad spill and the engine is torn to shit bc you didn't have proper protection. All the other guys are absolutely right. Keep it stock until your smashing records then you can upgrade to good stuff
