Default Alpinestars Bionic Air Back Protector

Built using two different layers of impact-absorbing honeycomb structures, the Alpinestars Bionic Air back protector is slimmer and lighter than other Alpinestars back protectors for even more comfort and excellent safety. The outer honeycomb polypropylene layer dissipates impact energy over a larger area while the inner elastomeric foam is responsible for absorbing said energy. Like previous Alpinestars back protectors, the outward-facing surface is rigid, so it’s made in facets that permit plenty of flexibility without being uncomfortable. The rider-facing side is made with a soft fabric surround with mesh pockets in its center allowing air to pass through for exceptional climate control. With these construction techniques, Alpinestars’ Bionic Air back protector is made slim and light, allowing it to closely conform to the body’s shape which not only makes it less noticeable as you ride, but also makes getting into and out of your gear a little easier! Best of all, we have these in sizes X-small to X-large for the most comfortable fit possible.

The Alpinestars Bionic Air back protector is held in place with a combination of adjustable elastic shoulder straps and dual waist belts. The large waist bands use dual Velcro straps: one positions the back protector correctly and the other allows the wearer to adjust how tightly it fits against the body.

CE-certified Level 1 for EN1621-2:2010.

The shoulder straps themselves are mounted on pivot points high up to ensure a perfect fit. Notice that the pivot mechanism is prevented from coming into contact with the body by the fabric surround so as not to induce any discomfort.

The part that faces the rider has large channels molded into its surround, allowing air to pass through. The inner mesh pockets further aids in cooling comfort.

A close look at the articulating plates reveals the grey inner foam honeycomb impact absorbing armor.
