Now you can easily recalibrate the speedometer on your motorcycle without the need to use any special tools with a Speedo Tuner. Whenever you change the gearing on your motorcycle, you’re going to end up with speedometer error. Installing a different brand, or even different type of tire from the same manufacturer - can net a change of indicated speed since tires can have slightly different diameters even if they’re marked as the same size as your bike’s OEM tires. An accurate speedometer is critical for keeping the value of your motorcycle intact as well as helping you avoid unnecessary speeding tickets. The Speedo Tuner is simple to install for most late-model motorcycles with connectors that match the OEM wire harness, allowing you to recalibrate any speedometer error on your motorcycle.

To calibrate the device, you can use a chassis dyno, a GPS unit with a speed readout or by following another vehicle whose speedometer is known to be accurate. The simple calibration procedure requires that you only press one button on the device itself while riding at the true speed for which you wish to calibrate it (Speedo Tuner recommends 60 mp/h). After that, ride at the speed that the speedometer should be indicating, press the same button momentarily and voila – your bike’s speedometer is now correct. No math required, just follow the included directions to program your bike’s speedometer and you’re done. Whenever you change gearing or switch to a different tire, repeat the procedure again.
