Using 06 zx6r lap timer

Im confused! trying to sort out how you work the lap timer, do you push start-stop each lap? or do you press lap? someone please help me out

press once timer starts. press again it stops. press and hold it resets, thats how my 05 works

Ok yea mine does that too, but that means you have to push it twice when you cross the line if you want to record 2 laps in a row?? which seems like a kinda dumb way to do it
