Default 2005 636 Front Sprocket -1T and throttle insert

I guess I'm going to go -1 in the front. I have a few questions.

Do I need to replace the chain? Or can I just tighten the rear wheel?

Will -1 in the front even be noticeable or do I need to go +1 or +2 in the back?

Also, is it possible to put in a throttle insert for something other than 1/5? Say 1/3 or 1/2?

I found this, and it says it is adjustable, but it doesn't say exactly how much I'll be turning in relation to stock

Those are good Questions!

I want to do the same.

By the way; Do you know where can I find some swingarms extensions? at good price.

no, but thanks for the thread hijack :jerkit:

i already had my throttle question answered. 1/4 is stock, 1/5 is typical aftermarket.

1/4 means it twists 90 degrees. 1/5 is about 72 degrees

I noticed +2 in the rear and after a while got used to it so I went -1 in the front also... WAY too much gearing for the street. I ended up just staying -1 in the front for most of my riding and if I knew I had a weekend of tearing up the back roads coming up i'd just swap out the rear sprocket.
As far as the insert. this is what I did:

The combination of the insert and gear change will make it a whole new bike and a lot more "on-off".
