Default Wife's First Ride On The 07' ZX6R - With Pics/Video!!!

As most of you know I bought a new 08' ZX-10R so that my wife could ride my 6R from time to time, problem is that she took her MSF class about two years ago and found out she was pregnant shortly after. Now that my daughter is almost two years old I figured it was time to get the wife on the road finally. She is a quick learner and patient with the way I teach so I rode the bike up to a large church parking lot today with the wife driving behind me and I gave her a quick crash course as a reminder of what she had learned in her MSF class. Naturally she stalled it a few times and her take offs were a bit jerkey but that was to be expected. Overall she did an awesome job and didn't drop the bike so that is always a plus. I plan on taking her up there as often as possible until she feels comfortable going on the streets with me by her side of course. The church parking lot has three sections with a two lane drive in between each of the parking lots so she can comfortably get into third gear then downshift into first before having to turn around.

Below are pics and a short video of her first day on the 07' ZX6R as a rider and not a passenger.

what no wheelies? LOL. That's awesome man! My wife loves her 07 6r, it's a great bike and congradulations, riding with your wife is probably the most fun thing you can do together, its a great bond to have. Good luck to her

Eventually she wants a blue bike so maybe once the new 10R is paid off I'll buy her a new 6R of her very own!!!

That's awesome silver, my girl rides the Duc in our yard. Hopefully yours will graduate to the street, mine won't take that next step. She is afraid of cars and is happy just where she is.:headshake

I'd think of that as a good thing, too many bad drivers out there and I would worry about her too much out there

She's looking good! This reminds me of when I had my wife in a parking lot teaching her how to ride! Her first bike was a Buell Blast. It was a GREAT starter bike and she rode the hell out of that bike! Now she's riding a 600RR. She can handle a liter bike, but she doesn't want one. She's comfortable and content with her CBR!

Good luck to your wife!!

Awesome you are teaching her to ride, but I will be the one to bring up those sweatpants she's wearing would get ate up even in a 10MPH parking lot drop, I am not saying put her in full leathers, but at least jeans would have helped.
