Default 2006 used 600rr

I was out for a spin today when I came across a 2006 600rr. It only has 7000 miles on it, has never been laid down and seems to be in fair condition. The owner is asking 4785. Is this a good deal? I am brand new to the track scene and the track would be its main purpose. However, I am 6'2 205lbs. Is this a good starter bike for a newb attending track days? Any and all responses are greatly appreciated:mrgreen:

Do you mean a Honda 600RR or a Kawi ZX6RR?

Either way, that seems like a decent price if everything is on the up and up. That year/class in good condition could easily fetch a price in the mid $5k range around here.

that sounds like a good deal to me, especially if you plan on tracking the bike. i would go for it

Its a Kawi ZX6RR. It looks like it just needs some new rubber and a bit of TLC. The bike has been kept in a barn so things like the chain, exhaust springs, headers show some rust:sad: I have met the father of the owner so far and I am going to meet the owner early next week. I freak out buying used stuff cause who knows if this was one of those idiots who thinks its cool to bounce the rev limiter Any tips for buying used????

Since you never really know how well maintained a used ride is unless they have all the receipts for everything, expect to have all the services done that the bike would have needed up to that point. With only 7K miles there shouldn't be much, but expect new plugs, tires, clean up the rust, change the fluids and filters and you should be good to go.

You can usually tell by the shape of the tires what kind of rider the previous owner was. With low mileage like that it could have been a track bike or stunter. But if it looks like it's never been down then that's a good sign that it might suit your track purposes well.

When I talked with the owner on the phone I asked if he had tracked all the scheduled maintenance. His response was delayed like he didnt know what he was selling! Its all good though. Thanks for the tips!!!
