Default Better bike for street

I am going to get a bike in the fall, I was wondering, which is better for street, an 08' zx6 or 05-06 636 ? I think I am going to build a monster replica being lime and black is my favorite colors. Probably get a green micron full system, or a yoshi (always loved them).

The '05/'06 with the 636cc engine. A bit more torque, and little more power, less weight... And softer suspension. All that should add up to a better street bike.

My

agreed...that 636 is a great bike and you will save urself some good $$$ that you can spend on the mods you may need/want to make to make it what you want!

a gently used and well kpet 636 would be a first bike

Being an 05 ZX-6R owner, I say go with the 08. Yes, the 05-06 636 is an AWESOME bike and is powerful for a 600, however they are prone to transmission problems, and trust me, you don't want that. I'm living it. The early model 07's were also prone to some type of engine malfunction. A friend (fellow 06 636 owner) rode an 07 and said it turns in a lot easier compared to his and just handles GREAT! Haven't got to ride one personally so I can't form my own opinion. My friend is a knowledgable street rider. Hopefully they've worked out ALL the kinks for 08. Keep us updated ccasion1
