Default '05rr full Akra install, pc III FI light

i'll search the forums for other issues about this, but thought i'd ask around for a quick answer or two =]

I installed an Akrapovic titanium race system along with a PCIII on the bike this weekend, and when i turn the key on the FI light is red. The bike starts up just fine, and throttle response seems to be fine. the PCIII has a custom map from Kyle Racing.

any ideas as to what causes the FI light to illuminate?

When you disconect the exhaust valve servo the FI light will come on, easy fix is to just remove the cables and leave the servo hooked up

yikes. i removed both cables and servo. i replaced the servo with some parts Akra furnished.

Come to think of it, I did the jumper mod on this bike. Do i need to remove the jumper..?

Not familiar enough with the 6r to tell you if the jumper mod would effect the FI light, I would think not, IVANS makes a FI light/servo eliminator for the 10r, not sure thats what you have, not familar with anything Akra would inclue, my EVOII system came with no such think for my 04

in my fingers is the factory servo part that i removed. in it's place is Akras "stop" mechanism. It prevents the servo from opening/closing

well i found my own mistake. i installed the Akra piece incorrectly. For the record, Akra calls this piece a "servo motor rotation limiter".
When you turn the ignition on a stock bike, the servo motor will attempt to spin. you need correct placement of the Akra limiter to prevent the F1 light from coming on.

here is a picture of the Akra limiter installed and the key out of the ignition and bike off. this is the correct placement of the limiter when the bike is off

to get the piece installed like this, i had to turn the ignition on/off repeatedly until i got the right placement. turning the ignition off while the servo motor is moving will stop the servo's motion. you catch it in the right spot, install the Akra limiter, and the F1 light goes away.
