Default 03 6r oil leak problem

well after a long and hard winter i uncovered the bikes to get em ready for riding season, i moved them to the center of the garage tonight i was lookin at my wifes 03 6r and noticed a light colored drip under the belly pan, almost like it was running out down the inside of the belly pan.....i took the plastics off and from what i can see it looks as if the cover(where you add the oil) is leaking on the underside of the cover.....i know that it has aftermarket clutch parts so i figured maybe the seal didnt seal very well. should i just remove the cover and reseal? is it a gasket or just RTV?
thanks for the help
ryan

its a gasket and i would recommend you buy a new cover gasket as i have had mine off several times and never had a leak using the gasket. plus its less of a mess.

Did you replace the cover gasket? Did this fix your problem? I'm having the same issue and i'm trying to figure out if I need to buy a new cover gasket, clutch cover (don't think it is cracked, but can't tell) or both.

when in doubt, change it out, thats what i say when it comes to cover gaskets. they are super cheap and easy to install. pick a new one up and try that.

Thanks, I will give it a try. That's a nice motto to remember. I know there is oil in there (cause it's leaking). However, do I need to drain the oil to change the gasket or can I just take the cover off and switch them out real quick??? Not sure how much oil is in there and if much would run out.

you can take the clutch cover off without draining the oil. just do it with it leaning on the kick stand. you will lose hardly any oil at all.
