Default Squeal frustration

I am having quite an annoying problem with the brakes on my 636 (2004), and I was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience.

The problem is that after changing the front brake pads from stock to EBC (HH), the brakes squeal; not only when I am using the brakes, but also when I am just coasting. When I am approaching a light, and let the engine do the braking (and I am not applying the brakes) the brakes squeal as the wheel spins from 30 mph until stop. It is very annoying and I would like to fix it without changing the pads (but I was told to maybe change to racing pads, with more carbon and Kevlar?).

I have triple checked the installation, and everything looks normal.

I have done 120+ miles with the new pads, and have done some hard braking to settle them in, but nothing has changed….rotest:

Interestingly enough, my bandit did a similar thing when I changed to HH pads. But they would only squeal when the brakes where applied, not when the tire was spinning freely.

Ideas? Have you experienced a similar problem? Solutions? Any Suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanx.

Sandblast your rotors and since you just changed your brake lines open the reseviour to release and built-up pressure thats not letting the brakes return fully

Glad to see you here Diego!

Thanx Konichd,

Will any good'ol mechanic do that? Where would you take the rotors?

I did open the cap during installation. I may just go in, press the brakes without the pads, clean the sides of the pistons and push em back.

The noise is the type that make your molars hurt... ........sucks.

D.
