I wouldn't go synthetic no way in hell. Its way to soon stick with your basic oil for now. I went threw the same thing a couple weeks ago. I would use the Kawi Chem I think its called 10-40

First oil change went to SemiSynth and next one Synth. Ran synth on all my bikes.

I've run sythetic on both the zx-10 (AMS 10W40) and on the zx6 (mobil 10W50). Both are over 7,000 miles and not a single problem, both were on the dyno a month ago (164 & 111) so switching to synthetic won't hurt a thing. Stick with a factory filter but the 10-50 mobil is 20 bucks for 5 quarts at Walmart.

I did fully syn. Mobil -1 on my '04 10 and the clutch wouldn't disengage from first to neutral. My '04 6RR is fine w/ it. I never changed the oil in my '06 10 (2,960 miles) because I'm selling it now for an '08. Motorex or Mobil 1 for motorcycles fully syn. is the way to go. I would leave the break-in oil in until 2,500 miles and then switch to fully syn.

Went with Mobil1 synth after 9000, and the clutch has been slipping ever since. Too slippery I guess, but went with the Rotella T synth thinking that it would be better but it slips too. Not as bad, but noticeable none the less. Its at 11,600 and I'm gonna put Rotella T dino 15-40 in it now . If that doesn't work I may go 20-50, then a new clutch. Hope not, but I'll see.
