Default Hiding avatars

Can anyone please advise me if it’s possible to suppress or hide avatars of individual users ? There’s certainly nothing that I find even remotely offensive, but I tend to surf the forum at work during the day, and the some of the more risqué pics could get me unwanted attention from management.

Thanks in advance,
Brian

Duct tape on the left side of the screen always worked for me.

Try the Lo-Fi version, all the way down on the page, left side.

You're probably using green apple, default, etc. It's a small icon.

You can go into the User CP and completely disable Avatars, Signatures, ect. The pages load faster as well on the slower networks.

This place is far more sophisticated than that Redmonkey shit we haunted for 8 years.

Can you imagine J3 and Wayfstwhyt trying to do battle with Super BD and BD? I cant. They would be booted so fast.

Those 2 ruined the Redmonkey forum and the forum owner was 2 intimidated and scared of them to do anything about it.

Its really a darn shame what happened there. Without the 2 BD's here, the same thing would happen.

Thanks very much, I'll give it a go.

All the best,

Thanks JJ, I’ll have a look at it.

I still look in on Redmonkey once in a while, partly because there are some good people there, but mainly because I’ve still got a bit of 7 stuff to offload.

You’re absolutely right though, it was certainly J3 and the idiots who wanted to be like him that brought the forum undone ; that said, the moderator’s idealistic view that the forum be self-regulating was fundamentally flawed, and IMHO at least an equal contributor. Someone recently posted on there a question, wondering what was required to make a new forum successful. I suggested that moderating somewhere between the anarchy of the 7OC and the totalitarian approach that I’ve seen from one egotist on this site was the key – a bit of reasonable balance is all it takes. By and large, that’s what I see on here, and the lack of nastiness makes it a pleasant place to dawdle.

When I first joined here, I saw that one of the ‘pirates’ was on here (can’t remember who he was, some wannabe-American from north of your border). Haven’t seen nor heard of him, so perhaps he’s smart enough to keep his head down, or he’s already been kicked off !

All the best,
Brian
