Default Deleted my thread? Are you kidding me?

My group buy thread was deleted, and no one even said anything to me... there was no "I deleted this thread because..." message... no nothing!

Why was it deleted? I checked the rules for that section and it said absolutely nothing about no group buys from what I read. What gives?

i enquired this morning to see if anyone had sent you a PM regarding its removal but haven't heard back.................in any event coordinating GP, advertising and such is solely for site sponsors therefore since your not a sponsor this is forbidden.

sorry you weren't informed as to why sooner. BTW it wasn't deleted just relocated.

don't know where your post was at or who moved it but here's your answer

Rules for the Sponsor section

As most of us know, this forum is kept alive by the grace of the sponsors. The purpose of this section is to give our members an easy way to get in contact with them and to help the sponsors sell their products. Please refrain from answering another member's post by putting up a link to an Ebay sale or a link to the classified section. If someone wanted to buy from one of these other outlets they could easily have done so. Thank you in advance.

I read that but apparently I didn't understand it was solely for the sponsors.

Just trying to help a good company, and get a good product to other riders at a good price.

Thanks anyway, at least for getting back to me quickly.

It's a very small local shop... 3 employees. They don't have the kind of money to do any sort of sponsor programs online. They don't really do any internet sales at all, up until now. That's why I'm pushing them to participate in group buys and things for me to get them out there! Three good friends of mine, and all really good people, but they just operate on a store front level where people come in their store and buy products, or have their bikes repaired/maitenenced/etc.

I'm just trying to get them out there. The internet is a powerful thing!

true but that would not be fair to the paying sponsors on this site I dont think. :headshake

I agree. There's no arguing that.

Maybe the admins would consider creating a section for member initiated group buys? It's worth a shot... I started this group buy on Kawiforums, and it's been successful. I branched out to a few other forums, since they're not really concerned about the make and model of the bike that the brake lines are for, and it's still going well.

Are you on Kawiforums too? If so, you know that the sponsors have precedence over group buys and things like that, but we are also allowed and encouraged to initiate our own group buys. I'm all about supporting sponsors, and also getting the little guys out there too. I think there should be a happy medium to where we could accomplish both.

As you see, I'm not new here. I don't post here all that much, but that doesn't mean I don't get on here and read the active topics relatively frequently.

Personally i don't believe there's a happy medium and if the little guy wants to get exposure in order to become a big guy then they themselves need to be here not somebody on their behalf.
