Just picked up the 06 636 and dealing with many issues. First off the cooling fan doesn't seem to work. temp went up to 225 and nothing. can't sent power right to the fan as the wires are all sealed. Tryed tracing back the blue and black wire but it goes under the frame and dissappears under the tank. can't for life of me figure that tank out. There is one bolt in the front. That's out. seems like the whole front part of the tank is plastic. side covers are off. the smaller pieces attached to the big plastic piece are not. what is the proceeder for removing this piece so i can see the fan wires? Hopefully i don't have to remove the whole tank. If I do that will be my next question. Also don't see the temp senser on the radeator. thanks in advance. MIKE

On the left side (stator cover side) you will have to raise the tank and remove the side fairings to access the harness and test the fan... If the fan works its the temp sensor... The Temp sensor is not on the radiator but like on the back side of the head of the engine right in front of the over flow, u will have to remove the over to get access to remove and install new sensor... Had the same issue and it was the temp sensor ($56)...

There is a bolt on the left and right side of the bike, and they both have to be removed so the tank can lift up... It's the same size Allen head that u need to remove the bolt from the front of the tank.... They are located on the frame right behind where your knees would be if you had your feet on the pegs
